The African Blackwood top sat on the shelf for 5 years. With a massive bug bored hole through the board, it was basically scrap wood. One day while resawing some tops, we figured, "we should resaw cut that African Blackwood". Once open, the bug bored holes landed exactly where F holes of a hollowbody would be. The project was started and months later, a unique hollow body style guitar was born. The guitar has an acoustic, open tone that is not overbearing or susceptible to feedback. The pickups are warm and well rounded sounding, with just the right amount of chime and bark. The piezo bridge offers a great acoustic guitar style sound that is easily mixed with the flip of the mini toggle switch. This guitar is definitely an eye catcher and one of a kind. PS. I never want to meet the bug that can eat it's way through African Blackwood.
